Integrating Phrasal Verbs as a Vocabulary Component in the EFL Classes in Bangladesh
Author(s): Md. Niaz Alamgir
Publication Date: December 30, 2025
Abstract
One of the major problems encountered by the EFL learners in Bangladesh today is vocabulary, that is, the number of new words the learners find when developing their LSRW skills in English. Most of the learners, when asked, say that they find it frustrating to learn so many new words. Learning phrasal verbs complementary to vocabulary has simplified the EFL learning process in a number of countries throughout the world where English is either taught as a second or foreign language. This paper thus intends to explore if teaching phrasal verbs beside vocabulary solves the vocabulary problem for EFL learners in Bangladesh.
